CCCame server, a service that provides video chat, is not the first video chat service to be hacked.
In 2013, the hacker group Anonymous released a malware that allowed them to compromise a CCCam server, an internet video chat app.
But in 2016, the company that runs CCCamed said it was able to crack the passwords of all of the cccamed accounts that the hackers had compromised.CCCamed has had a few issues over the years, including a security breach in 2015, but has since been patched.
The company’s CEO and founder, Chris Cairns, told Ars that it had been more difficult to breach their servers because it was an encrypted connection, and that they were not as aggressive as other companies in securing their servers.
“They didn’t have a security team on staff that was trained in how to defend against that kind of attack,” Cairn said.
“We have to do that with our servers, we have to be more careful about that.
There’s always the possibility that we’re compromised, we’re vulnerable, but we’ve always been more cautious about that.”
In 2016, CCCameras servers were breached, but the company’s servers were patched within hours of the breach.
CCCams servers were compromised again in 2018, but were patched in two hours.
In all, the CCCammed service has more than 150 million users.
